Seasons and Biomes Training in Estonia

On 10 – 13th March GLOBE Seasons and Biomes Training was held in Võru Estonia. It was conducted by two most wonderful trainers from University of Alaska Fairbanks – Dr Elena Bautista Sparrow and Ms Martha R. Kopplin with their little helper Bill Kopplin.

In the workshop there were 41 participants from Estonia, Belgium and Switzerland who did some fascinating groupwork, visited Piusa sand caves, learned a little about Alaska’s diverse nature and gathered on the dance floor in the evening.

The training included atmosphere protocols and plant phenology protocols, related learning activities, best teaching practices and the GLOBE Model for Student Scientific Research, and Earth As a System concept.

We have had some great feedback about the whole four days. Everyone really enjoyed themselves!
